Ms. Julia W. Boles, Principal
A homegrown Cavalier herself, Mrs. Boles is an alumna of Chatham High School. After high school, she attended Virginia Tech where she earned Bachelors degrees in history and political science as well as a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. Mrs. Boles later received an Educational Specialist degree at Liberty University in Educational Leadership. As a teacher, Mrs. Boles taught social studies for nine years in both middle and high schools before becoming an Assistant Principal/Athletic Director at Dan River High School for six years. Mrs. Boles was appointed Principal of Chatham Middle School in 2016.
In her personal life, Mrs. Boles loves spending time with her family, cooking, and traveling. She is an avid Hokie Football fan, enjoys watching sports, and finding good books to read.

Mrs. Jessica Waller, Assistant Principal
Mrs. Waller grew up in Chatham and graduated with honors from Chatham High School. She then attended and graduated from Radford University with a degree in Communication/Public Relations. In addition to earning a Master of Arts in Teaching in Special Education from Liberty University, she also added an endorsement in K-12 Administration and Supervision from Longwood University.
Mrs. Waller began her teaching career at Dan River Middle School and joined the family at Chatham Middle School in 2016. Prior to becoming our Cavalier Assistant Principal, Mrs. Waller served 5 years as a Special Education Coordinator for Pittsylvania County Schools.
Mrs. Waller lives in Chatham with her husband Jacob, who is also a teacher and baseball coach at Dan River High School, and their two children, Oakley and Laken. She enjoys running, working out, and spending time with family and friends.
